Olivia LaGoy-Weltz (Liv) began her riding career in 1988. As a junior she received a riding education in biomechanics which gave her the foundation to compete successfully in both Dressage and Eventing.
In 2002 she moved to Europe where she spent three years training with Egbert Kraak at Stal De Creacken, one of Holland's premier sales barns. During this time she managed all aspects of Egbert's facility and became his head rider. She frequently presented horses to many of the top Dressage riders and trainers in the world.
Olivia moved to Germany in 2005 where she spent the next two years training and working for Reitmister Udo Lange & Seven time Canadian Olympic team member Christilot Hanson Boylen, German Olympic champion Ulla Salzgaber and Ernst Hoyos former head rider at the spanish riding school in Vienna.
During her time in Germany she competed successfully through FEI Inter-1, coached a Jr. to the European Jr. Young Rider Championships and received instruction from some of the very best riders and trainers in the world.
In 2007 Olivia returned to the Bay Area and founded LivDressage. She maintains close relationships with her contacts in Europe and has developed a wonderful client base whom she feels a great debit of gratitude towards. "I feel very luck to have had such great students to work with. We have learned a lot from each other." While based at Denville Kanani Olivia worked closely with Equine Vet, Chiropractor and trainer Tina Steward.
Olivia has recently been recruited and will be moving to Versailles Kentucky October 7, 2009 where she will work for Kathy Priest of Springwood Farms as assistant trainer and rider. She will be in Florida from December through March. And in Kentucky From April through November.
"Deciding to move back East and away from DK was one of the hardest choices that I've ever had to make. DK and everyone there has become very dear to me. It helps to know that I will be able to come back and see everyone and give clinics when I come home to visit," says LaGoy-Weltz.
